TALREN 4 is a geotechnical engineering application for assessing the stability of natural and engineered slopes as well as reinforced-soil structures. It applies limit-equilibrium analysis to evaluate potential slip surfaces and compute global factors of safety under a range of loading and groundwater conditions.

Key capabilities include:

  • Modeling embankments, cut slopes, earth dams, and reinforced-soil walls/slopes using geogrids, strips, soil nails, and anchors.
  • Defining layered stratigraphy with drained/undrained shear-strength parameters, unit weights, and groundwater or pore-pressure conditions.
  • Accounting for surcharges and optional pseudo-static seismic loading, with support for partial safety factors to align with code-based design workflows.
  • Performing automatic and user-guided searches for critical slip surfaces, including circular and noncircular failure mechanisms.
  • Reporting factors of safety, mobilized reinforcement forces, slip surface geometry, and stability maps, with clear graphics and calculation summaries suitable for documentation and review.

Engineers use TALREN 4 for preliminary design, detailed checks, and back-analysis, benefiting from its focused tools for reinforced-soil applications and its concise, reproducible reporting.

TALREN 4 is developed by TERRASOL and is used by 2 users of Software Informer. The most popular version of this product among our users is 2.0.
